Metricline exists for the moment two teams show up with different numbers for the same thing. Every metric is defined once, with an owner, a source table and a version, and every dashboard draws from that one definition instead of its own formula.
Change a definition and everything built on it changes too, but nothing already reported goes fuzzy: each version is recorded, so a number from last quarter still recomputes the way it did then.
The catalogue answers questions as well as showing charts. Type a question in plain English and Metricline maps it to a metric and returns the value with its definition and owner attached, so the answer can be checked rather than trusted.
